Both artists teased the track in June.

Ariana Grande just released her fourth studio album Sweetener, her first project since 2016’s Dangerous Woman. The album’s 11th track “borderline” includes assistance from two hip-hop veterans. It boasts a guest verse from Missy Elliott and production by Pharrell, who also produced nearly half of the songs on the project.

In The FADER’s recent cover story, Ariana explained how this collaboration with the legend is a lifelong dream come true. It’s also a full circle moment as they now share a mutual music video director.

“Missy Elliott makes a guest appearance, an experience that Ariana has been aiming for since she was crazy young, dancing in her room to Missy’s music, and studying her music videos directed by Dave Meyers, who ended up directing the clip for ‘no tears left to cry,’” Myles Tanzer wrote.

The gratitude about the collaboration is mutual on both ends, as Missy confirmed on Twitter back in June. “I got to write a song for Ariana. I’m humbly grateful,” she wrote.

On the song, Missy raps about desiring attention from a certain someone:

Wish you’d chew on me like fresh grapes
Not tryna cuff you or crowd your space
I’m tryna find you words just to say
“Dang, you fine, and look at that face”
At the borderline, beside me, you lay (woo!)

The only other feature on the 15-track album in addition to Pharrell and Missy Elliott is Nicki Minaj, with whom Ariana previously collaborated for hits like “Bed” and “Side To Side.”
