Ariana Grande May Have Completed Her Next Album

She recently told paparazzi another album is coming before the end of the 2018.

It looks like new music from Ariana Grande is coming soon. On October 4th, 2018, Grande teased a snippet of a new song on social media. A few days afterwards, Grande told a fan on Twitter that she didn’t want to wait too long to put out new music, referencing her usual two-year span between albums. Later that week, a video surfaced of Grande telling a paparazzi that she’d have a new record out before the end of 2018.

Grande posted several pictures in October that prompted speculation about a new release, including one of her in a recording booth and another where she is sitting in a studio. Grande also hinted at the possibility of going on a joint tour for her fourth album sweetener and her next album, as well as teasing a nine-song tracklist via Instagram stories.

Grande released sweetener in August 2018, and it’s already been a huge project for her career. It broke Spotify’s record for the biggest opening day for a female artist, racking up over 50 million streams. Just over a month later, it crossed one billion streams on the service. There were two romantic interests that inspired songs on the album: Mac Miller and Pete Davidson.

The pop star has been surrounded by tragedy in 2018. Her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller died of a suspected overdose in September 2018, and just over a month later, news broke that she had called off her engagement with Pete Davidson. The latter news prompted a 563 percent increase in Genius pageviews for her song named after him.

While it’s still unconfirmed whether this project will be a third Christmas release, following 2015’s Christmas and Chill and 2013’s Christmas Kisses, or a formal studio album, it has been confirmed that Ariana will perform on an NBC special to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Wicked’s Broadway debut. The special will air on October 29th, 2018.
